Status Update From NLL

May 1st update regarding our 2020 season.

As some may have seen, Little League International made an announcement yesterday detailing their directives for this season.

A summary of the announcement is as follows:
 - Little League is lifting their suspension of league activity and are allowing leagues to resume Little League activities after May 11th, as long as local and state officials deem it safe to do so.
 - These league activities and playing opportunities could include not only regular season activities, but also opportunities for local district, and, perhaps, state all-star tournament play, if possible and safe.
 - On a sad note, Little League International has made the decision to cancel their World Series in Williamsport, PA and their Regional tournaments.  These cancellations are due to the inability to play qualifying tournaments in their US and International regions, travel restrictions, testing & mitigation protocols at these significant public events, etc.

What does all this mean to us?
 - The cancellation of the Little League World Series and Regional tournaments has no direct effect on our regular season.  Little League International is not only allowing, but is encouraging a return to play once it is deemed safe at the local and state level.  We will continue to communicate with and take guidance from the City and State regarding when we will be able to get back out there.  Our regular season will be able to start once we are told we can do so.

 - Little League is also encouraging district level post-season all-star tournaments as well, with the possibility of continuing through the sectional and state level - if all are deemed safe.  Our District Commissioner will be meeting with the state group and we should receive an update within the next couple of weeks.

As a league, we will continue to prepare and be ready for both the regular season and any allowable post-season when the green light is given.  With that in mind here is an update on our rosters for the season:
 - All registered players in all divisions have been accounted for and have been placed on a team.  That includes our AA, A, and T-ball divisions (Majors & AAA teams were formed a few weeks ago).
If you have not been contacted as of yet it is only because final rosters are subject to change based on possible additional registrations that may come in when we start.  Rest assured that all current registered players are on a team for our 2020 season.

We continue to be very appreciative and grateful for the guidance and support from the City of Norwalk, State of CT, and Little League International during this time.

We will provide additional updates if new information is received, but as of right now we are continuing to proceed and plan accordingly.  Our Board of Directors continues to participate and conduct virtual meetings to review all information.  We will be as prepared as possible and will look to hit the ground running when able!
